Elon Musk announced in a tweet that a “Dog Mode” feature will be released to Tesla cars this week. According to Fortune, this feature is for pet owners who need to “step away from their car while leaving their furry friend inside.”
Though there isn’t much information about the new feature, there has been speculation. Musk responded “Yes” to a tweet in October 2018 suggesting Dog Mode features “where the music plays and the ac is on, with a display on a screen saying, ‘I’m fine my owner will be right back.’”
Another tweet, to which Musk responded, “Exactly,” suggested that the screen inside the car would display the interior temperature.
In 2016, Tesla introduced new v8 software that has “Cabin Overheat Protect,” according to Fortune, which keeps the interior of the car at a safe temperature, even when the car is off. The Dog Mode is anticipated to build off of this feature.
