You can certainly try adding some fiber to his diet in the form of boiled rice or canned pumpkin, however be very cautious as rawhides can easily block the GI tract and cause serious problems that need surgery to correct. Also be aware that you may be seeing your dog strain to defecate, but this could be the result of diarrhea and not constipation - constipation is actually kind of rare in dogs. Rawhides can be very tough on the GI tract, and I'd recommend getting him in to see your vet if the straining doesn't resolve in 6 - 12 hours.
