A. Contaminated or old food poses a problem because the bacteria can release toxins in your pets body and cause sickness that can be resistant to at home therapy. So the recommendations I suggest may not restore the balance that your pet needs.
You can try to give Pepcid AC (Famotidine) 0.5-1 mg/kg every 12 hrs,
Pepto bismol : < 5kg = 0.25 tablet; 5-9.9 kg = 0.5 tablet; 10-24.9kg = 1 tablet; >25kg = 2 tablets
and a bland diet of either boiled chicken and rice or cottage cheese OR a low fat diet of Purina EN Gastrointestinal.
Like I mentioned before, there is a good chance that even with this supportive care you pet will still need to go to the vet for further treatment (i.e. Antibiotics, fluid therapy)
