A. Sound like your pet possibly has a common condition called hemorrhagic gastrointeritis. For pets with this condition I typically recommend a bland diet of boiled plain chicken and rice or cottage cheese and probiotics (such as Culturelle over the counter, or Fortiflora or Proviable from your vet).
You should also visit your vet for a prescription for antibiotics (I typically use Metronidazole) to get the bacterial flora balanced.
For most pets with this condition it is stimulated by stress or eating something he shouldn't have.
