A. There are many factors that are contributing: 1) general age related changes such as arthritis cause pain and stiffness. This can be managed in many ways, but my suspicion is that she has pretty severe arthritis to be feeling this poorly. 2) weight gain . As you can imagine, excess weight makes those joints even more painful but she is unlikely to use it without some pain management: 3) a general wellness check is recommended to evaluate for any metabolic conditions common in older animals such as hypothyroid disease.
