A. Parasites like Sarcpotes Scabiei (also called burrowing mites), Otodectes Cynotis (ear mites) and Cheyletiella (walking dandruff) are very contagious between dogs.
Pets diagnosed with one of these parasites should be separated from other dogs until treatment is finished. Sarcoptes Scabiei can also be passed on to humans.
Demodex Canis, another common skin parasite, is not contagious to human or healthy dogs but may be dangerous to dogs with compromised immune systems.
