General Description

Itraconazole is an antifungal drug effective against most fungal infections. Itraconazole was produced to improve upon Ketoconazole to reduce the number of side effects and effectiveness for certain types of infections.

How It Works

Itraconazole works by inhibiting the enzymes that make ergosterol, a key component in the fungal cell wall. This causes the fungus to be structurally inadequate so that it leaks and dies.
