Q. Should l have any health concerns regarding a blue eyed bassett hound puppy?

A. Well no . . . And possibly yes. Blue eyes are a fault in Basset Hounds, who should have brown eyes (with dark brown preferred except in certain instances of coat color). In and of itself, it should not be a problem, though in some breeds blue eyes are linked to other genetic faults (hearing loss in Dalmatians, for example). My question is what type of breeding produced this flaw, and if it was a carefully considered mating or one of lesser quality that might result in other, more serious problems. I would do very careful research before I take this puppy. If you need help with this, I am available for consult--just click on the prompt to initiate one.
