A. Tea tree oils have been found to be a potential toxin for dogs, it can cause neuroligical symptoms and liver failure. I would recommend to get rid of the tea tree oil in your dehumidifiers.
A. The use of essential oils in, on or around pets is controversial. Dogs can be quite sensitive since they have a heightened sense of smell. Use only very high quality 100% essential oils in very small amounts. Do not use fragrance oils. Hydrosols are another gentler option. If you have cats, small dogs or puppies in the house, essential oil use is not recommended. Monitor for GI upset, difficulty breathing, drooling, sneezing, head shaking or an unsteady gait.
