Make sure all the trash cans in the house are secured as are cleaning products and any insect traps or baits. If you have other pets, make sure she isn't gorging on their food as well. Cat food can cause GI upset in some dogs. Monitor for other signs such as lethargy, loss of appetite or abdominal pain. Withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If the vomiting stops, continue feeding until the stool is normal. Transition slowly to the regular diet. Usually giving her GI tract a "rest" will resolve most cases of vomiting/diarrhea but if the bland diet doesnâ€™t help, see your veterinarian.
