Q. Can I give my 20 pound Cocker Spaniel something for pain until the veterinarian's office opens?

A. Not really. Human pain killers are neither safe nor effective for pain in dogs. What is more, if you use of one human pain killers like paracetamol your vet will not able to use most of the licensed pain killers for the next 12-24hrs.
