A. Ear mites feed on the tiny blood vessels in the ears, so they may have caused some cuts or scratches to appear along with bruising. However if your cat has been bruising easily or appears to have a clotting problem, it is best to have it tested at your local veterinarian. Clotting problems can be serious, and knowing for sure if your cat has one is important.
Purebred cats and cats of an Oriental breed background (such as Colorpoint Siamese) are more prone to having clotting disorders. However, careful breeding and selection of parents can make the incidence lower.
