If Royal Canin is still causing soft stools, then switching to another brand such as Science Diet z/d, Purina EN or Eukanuba Intestinal may help. Be sure to switch over the food slowly (over a period of 7-9 days) and with your veterinarian's approval to ensure that food change does not cause further digestive upset.
